A long weekend in Normandy - out Friday, departing Portsmouth, visits Saturday, visits and back Sunday. The group will have the option of visiting two lace museums, Bayeux and Alencon, and of course that famous tapestry at Bayeux, and to visit the exhibition at Dior's birthplace in Granville, Normandy, for a superb exhibition which is renewed each year. From June we should also be able to visit the lace museum re-opening at Argentan. First arranged for the Costume Society, it has proved a very popular weekend.
Getting there Transport will be by our Mercedes Vito Mini bus so places are limited to an intimate group of six plus the driver. We will cross the channel with Brittany Ferries, from Portsmouth. Just a point, we could run from London, but once at Calais you have a 5 hour drive westwards and the same eastwards on the way back, therefore going via one of the western ports is the most obvious way. From Waterloo there are regular services and we recommend you go right through to Portsmouth Harbour Station where collection is easy, or park in the Ferry terminal secure multi story parking
What is and isn't included. The price includes the channel crossing, museum entrances, the use of the fully insured mini bus and its driver (who speaks fluent French), bed and breakfast for two nights and the evening meal on the Saturday. It does not include lunches, meals on the ferry, or personal injury / cancellation insurance. (but we can quote you for insurance) For a detailed itinerary do E-mail or phone us as we can add special things to this weekend
