What is and isn't included: The price includes the channel crossing, with shared cabins for all; scheduled museum visit entrance fees and guided tour, the use of the fully insured mini bus and its driver (who speaks fluent French), bed and breakfast for three nights (one on the ferry) and the evening meals to a set price on Friday and Saturday. It does not include lunches, meals en route, or personal/cancellation insurance. (but we can quote you for insurance) Transport will be by our Mercedes Vito Mini bus so places are limited to seven plus the driver. We have a visit to a museum that holds period tools planned for Friday afternoon en route to Paris.
Thursday: We expect to meet people to be at Portsmouth Harbour Station by 20.30 hrs Thursday February 7th. We board our ferry and sail, getting up at a ridiculous hour to breakfast on shore. We should arrive at Paris by – with a potential visit en route- by about 1700 hrs French time (16:00 p.m. English), and go straight to our hotel for the weekend. This is planned to be the Hotel de Nice, in central Paris, near the museums. We need to confirm our reservations so please reply as soon as you can.
Saturday: After breakfast we visit a special exhibition at the Yves St Laurent Museum and then on to Galleria. After Lunch out, which may be as a group or free time, we will have free shopping and browsing time till dinner. I will guide people to at least Les Invalides, and perhaps elsewhere.
Sunday: After breakfast at 08.30 am we pack the vehicle, then depart to visit the Christian Lacroix Exhibition Musee de la Mode et du Textile. From Paris, we drive to Caen for
16:00 with a light lunch en route; we should make Portsmouth by 22:15 and back to Poole around 23:30 PM
If I have five vehicle passengers I will arrange hotel accommodation and museum entries for other participants if they wish to come by Eurostar – but would ask them to arrange their own transport to the Hotel- this is an experiment so lets hope it works
